Post
The best way to think is to write it down.
Shane Parrish posted.
Writing forces you to structure your thinking, fill in the holes, and make it coherent. When you explain you make sense of it.
How does it work:
When you write, first, you discover that you donât know what you think you know. Then you work you way to discover and build what you actually know.
It is an exercise of humility, a necessary condition to learn and create.
Connects with:
Writing to think is a similar effect when you have to explain to another person, or to a 12 year old.
This is known as the âFeynman learning technique,â which states that you have learned a topic if you can explain it to a 12-year-old. This works because you can do this if you master the topic in a way that you can simplify it, and that means you understand the core of it.
Another take:
âWrite to thinkâ, but donât publish that.
Donât publish the material that came out of that writing-thinking process. Is not ready. It was meant to think, not to be understood by others.
Writing to be understood is another discipline.
By the way, Iâm reading âSmart Brevityâ by the founders of Axios, and I'm loving it.
PS: Writhinking: Writing for thinking - I just made this up ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Article
From the people who brought you Product-Led Growth (PLG) comes the new Product-Led Sales. It sounds like a joke, but it addresses the issue of combining PLG with Sales and using PLG to sell to larger customers and bigger contracts.
Product-Led Sales? If you donât know what it is, read it. If you know, read it more carefully. Elena, the queen of Growth, does a great job explaining the whole process with enough detail and examples. You should read, bookmark and share this.
Bonus: I love how Elena can balance deep expertise with mighty memes. check this:
Show
Mom! I was interviewed for the Nudge podcast by Phill Agnew!
The episode is about how to build connections with questions and what type of questions to ask. But the star of the episode is Charles Duhigg (Author of âPower of Habitâ and âSupercommunicatorsâ). I just participated in an experiment that Phill ran. ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Whatâs inside
Everyone knows the importance of asking questions. However, not all questions are helpful. Listen to the episode to find out why and how to make better questions.
Phill talks with Charles Duhigg about his latest book, âSupercommunicators: How to Unlock the Secret Language of Connection.â
Listen to the episode in your player or here
Bonus: What you can find in the book Supercommunicators:
In Supercommunicators, Charles Duhigg reveals that effective communication hinges on understanding the three underlying layers of every conversation: the practical (the topic), the emotional (feelings), and the social (relationships). Through engaging stories and research, he shows how recognizing and matching these layers can transform anyone into a more effective communicator, capable of connecting deeply with others and achieving clearer, more impactful interactions.
Track
Summertime, and the livin' is easy.
The Summer is still shining strong at this latitude.
That calls for a reinterpretation of the famous Gershwin âSummertimeâ with the distinctive groove of The Roots.
Thanks for reading.
Thatâs all for this week.
See you next Friday.
